| DESIGN NAME: Qingdao World Expo City Center PRIMARY FUNCTION: Conference Center INSPIRATION: A city-related design task is a long time to wait and surprise. Everything in the designer's works is free. Whether it is the lines drawn on the form, the relationship with the material, or the form of space and the trace of time,they are all the interpretation of the concept of space. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In this case, the designers introduce the concept of city living room, with modern style combined with humanistic temperament. Designers introduce the streamline elements of architecture into the interior, and incorporate the characteristics of the Qingdao ocean into it. It reflects the streamline shape like the ocean wave. In the local, it matches of golden fish to form a unique lamp modeling. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Entry the lobby space of World Expo City Conference Center, the streamline elements of the building are introduced into the interior, and the characteristics of the ocean are integrated into it. In terms of modeling, the main material is GRG. The main material of dome is metallic aluminium plate and pull film lamp. And the ground material is mainly stone. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in February 2017 in Qingdao and finished in August 2018 in Qingdao. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interior Space and Exhibition Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The design of the conference room area shows Chinese traditional culture under the premise of ensuring advanced design concept and functionality. The whole building is shaped by irregular silk streamline, which conforms to the elegant shape of silk belt and is supplemented by a large-span steel structure. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The construction area of the whole complex project is 1420,000 square feet, including conference center construction area of 430,000 square feet, and Westin construction area of 300,000 square feet. TAGS: Conference Center, Exhibition Hall, World Expo City, Modern Style, Langyatai Culture, Marine Characteristics, Public Area, Interior RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The overall keynote of this project is unified and concise, which conforms to the design theme. In order to create a green, energy-saving and human-oriented space environment, the designers perfectly combine natural light and artificial light, and pay attention to the use of acoustic environment. Here, we can not only explore ways of better integration between products and city, nature and life, but also gradually understand the meaning of modern, international and art to space. CHALLENGE: The owner hopes to build a coastal international expo city that is ahead of the Northeast Asia in terms of scale, carrying capacity, supporting functions and technological level, and to meet the needs of various large-scale high-end conferences and exhibitions in one stop.
