| DESIGN NAME: Between PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House INSPIRATION: Do nothing of the Taoist Philosophy is the theme of the project; we adopt the basic decoration to remove the actual boundary. Light, shadow, air, and time are the key elements, which we introduce to make people feel again the peace inside their hearts and five sense experiences. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The living space of the owner’s mother is a special feature of this project. Drinking hot tea on the balcony can make you feel comfortable and relaxed. Enjoy the wind and the sun, gently kiss your face, watch the bamboo leaves swaying in the wind, and have a daily life worthy of your busy days. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: All about comfortable feelings.Simple interactions between people and nature. Open kitchen is not just a cooking space, but a relaxing corner for the family members get together. A sweet and warm living space. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: We keep the original look of the space as much as possible, such as the grey cement floor slabs, the original pipelines, and the little pond; we use wood, glass, and raw hardware to create simple lines and keep the space for light, shadow, and nature; what we do is to make the apartment being owner's particular space. Simplicity is the perfect decoration. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Indoor area : 168 sqm. Balcony area : 227 sqm TAGS: DESIGN STUDIO, Ding-Rui Tai, boundar, intervention, DoNothing, colorless, Natural Charm, grilles, space RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Research type: living space Conclusion: The theme of this project is doing nothing, but the side the apartment faces affects the angle of sunlight and the intensity of sunlight affects the planting. As the apartment is located on the second floor, privacy and safety are concerned accordingly. CHALLENGE: Do nothing, it looks simple, but actually is a tough design concept; what to add, remove, maintain, and create is not the rule of decoration, actually the conclusion is just to let nature takes its own course. This large balcony introduces the sunlight inside the space and extends the space; the planting is the charming and natural atmosphere for decoration. Simplicity is the perfect decoration for the owner's utopia. NAME: Between the boundary and the interventio PROFILE: DINGRUI Design Studio C.F.Tai Design Studio was organized in 1997. Renamed as “DINGRUI Design Studio” in 2008. We have our own language formed by the design to promote actions, study in space and life aesthetics, and being persistent in carrying out the design solutions. Our main business is primarily on interior design and display design of residence and the associated club house. We believe that the spirit of spatial planning is to epitomize the attitude towards life, instead of using up every corner of the space. Moderate reservation of the open space is to remain the flexible use of space on one hand, and to have the behavior patterns changed and further adjust mood and attitude on the other hand. We emphasize the principle of material utilization and focus on the coordination of the laws of nature, rather than arbitrary overlapping. |
