DESIGN NAME: Axis and Nature
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential Interior Design
INSPIRATION: Nature is where the mind belongs. "Real design is where spatial planning is conducted in a manner which centers around humans coexisting with nature". By incorporating the theme of "nature being in one's living room", this project focused on bringing "humanity, the environment, and architecture" together to satisfy the longing people have for living in nature, so that one's mind may wander with the wind, light, water, and greenery while building the scene of an ideal life within the city.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Utilization of internal space:
The floor plan was restructured and the obstruction of divisions removed. "The space was unified through a large scale, open plan design" which intimately links all spaces while allowing a clear view of the mountains in the nature preserve all around.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Spatial architecture conveys an attitude towards life, an in-depth "introspection" of the relationship between the primary space and the surrounding environment. As the base faces mountains in a nature conservation area, a 3-D design was incorporated to utilize natural scenery so that the mountains, trees, and architectural space meld together harmoniously, lone level upon another, to extend one's depth of vision infinitely.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Functionality is melded into design to enhance exchanges between residents. The X and Y axis of the space thus become interlinked. They break free from the boundaries of space and are linked in an interlocking, continuing manner. No matter where the residents go in this home, it is as if they are conversing with nature. The natural ventilation and lighting of this space allows full appreciation of the greenery outside the windows.
