| DESIGN NAME: Ekin Box Spotter PRIMARY FUNCTION: Speed Enforcement and Plate Recognition INSPIRATION: A characteristic visual language is aimed while ensuring the fulfillment of functional requirements, durability towards outdoor conditions and adaptability to varied overhead structures. The main form idea of the product arises from its dual cameras having humanoid qualities. The mount of the body also plays an important role in the visual character of the overall product. Thanks to its hexagonal section inside, it can adapt to tubes with varying radii. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Ekin Box Spotter is a portable solution that helps police officers or security forces to enhance traffic safety. It can detect every number plate and speed of the vehicles in its field of view and generates alarms in case of any violation or wanted vehicle detected. Ekin Box Spotter designed for easy and practical assembling on tripod or pole and provides flexible application area. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Having a major difference from only-fixed surveillance solutions, Ekin Box Spotter is able to be used on tripod as a portable system which means it can immediately support required areas and ensure maximum traffic safety. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Box spotter consists of front cover, body, back cover, sunshade and angled mounting foot. Front cover is produced by plastic injection molding method and has infrared permeable material. The body was produced by using aluminum extrusion molding method and it was decided by evaluating the design of the cooling channels as a result of heat analysis. The back cover is produced by plastic injection molding method and can pass the lte and gps signals. The sun visor is produced by plastic injection method to protect the product from the sun light and increase the temperature and prevent the image of the cameras due to light. The angled mounting stand is made of stainless steel material and it is produced by bending on the cutting machine. These options are all outdoor, that’s why the material used had to be suitable for these options and plus they should’nt effect the design.
