DESIGN NAME: Charlie'S Sports Bar
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sports Bar
INSPIRATION: The design concept is inspired by the mixologist-owner of Charlie’s who is also a sports fanatic–tough guy manliness juxtaposed with the thoughtfulness of quiet creation.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The skillful arrangement of space and materials make atmosphere describe the owner’s vibrant personality accurately; combine with old-style simple and adventure.
Coloured glass, brass, rough surface concrete, and walnut enriches the interplay of light, sound, sight lines, and the interactions between the customers and the owner. And the orange and black store front dramatically reflects on shades of grey, just like what sports bar should be: a space full with conflict and comfort.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Games full of conflict, and bar should be comfortable. The mixologist-owner is the most important sense of bar, how they treat and what do people feel. Why do not combine with old-style simple and adventure.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in April 2018 and finished in July 2018 n Taipei, Taiwan.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In terms of strategy, at first we analyze the personality which is most likely to let customers touch and feel, such as the warmth and straightforwardness of the old and new values.
Second, try different material ratios in the space, deepen the depth, consider what we want to show between bartender and the guests. Lower the bar, making the mood passing more intimate and purer.
CHALLENGE: The most challenge is balance atmosphere when the bar is not used as a sports bar.
