| DESIGN NAME: Unread Bookmark PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bookmark INSPIRATION: In contemporary Internet life, we use a small red dot on the icon to remind us to view unread information. This little red dot has become one of the most understandable visual languages dedicated to electronic screens, while bookmarks are used. To separate the read and unread parts of the book, mark the progress of reading. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Little red dot is the general marking of unread messages in the Internet age, and bookmarks are designed to mark and distinguish between read and unread parts. This bookmark links unread messages and bookmark together, as if the part behind the little red dot is what we have not read, waiting for us to read. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: In operations and processes, this bookmark can be conveniently placed on a page waiting to be read, which reminds you to read the rest of the book. In interactions, the appearance of the red circle is reminiscent of the prompts of unread messages on the Internet. There is a new way of interaction between the book and the reader. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in May 2018 in Guangzhou and finished in July 2018 in Guangzhou. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Laser cutting,Plastic SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 25mmx45mmx0.5mm TAGS: Bookmark,Network era RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In contemporary Internet life, we use a small red dot on the icon to remind us to view unread information. This little red dot has become one of the most understandable visual languages dedicated to electronic screens, while bookmarks are used. To separate the read and unread parts of the book, mark the progress of reading. I converted the little red dot on the electronic screen into a bookmark called Unread Bookmark. This bookmark is made of acrylic with a thickness of 0.5mm, which can be conveniently placed on the page. When you pause your reading, clip the bookmark on the page, as if the small red dot on the screen appeared in reality, telling us that we have unread messages in the book, waiting for us to read. CHALLENGE: The hardest part of this design activity is chose a more suitable material,such as hardness,elasticity and so on.
