| DESIGN NAME: Treasure in a Forest PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential Apartment INSPIRATION: The inspiration of design is coming from the location of city, which is surrounded by mountains and river. By incorporating natural material and texture, the space elevates its luxurious sense yet maintain comfortableness and functionality. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: "Sylvan" is a residential interior space mainly composed with natural material textures, such as wood, store, and marbles. Its design focuses maximizing the function, while emphasize the beauty of space. The continuous curved surface becomes part of entrance bench, as well as the bar counter the next to kitchen space. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The residential space is composed with dining area, living room, master bedroom and one guest bedroom. There is the rotatable TV shelf to divide the living room with study area. The TV shelf can be adjusted to face living room sofa or dining table depending on which area the family sits. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: 3D visualization and CAD design method Wood Carpentry and Water jet Marble trimming KD wood panel, Corian artificial marble SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Interior space total 70 square meter. TAGS: MisoSoupDesign, Daisuke Nagatomo, Minnie Jan, Interior Design, residential apartment, Taiwan RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This project is the continuous design research for adapting sustainable lifestyle to Taiwanese residential space. By incorporating natural materials, such as wood and stones, the space integrates more comfortable and functional usage to the residential space. CHALLENGE: The hardest part of this project is to accomplish high quality of detail finishes. Since most of the components of space is handcrafted by the carpenters on site, it is a big challenge to coordinate all the design documents and meet the requirement on site.
