DESIGN NAME: Action Without Action
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House
INSPIRATION: This residential plan and design exhibit this belief with its spatial layout and unbounded design techniques. Designed not for the sake of designing, the space is presented with texture and the residence’s functionality will be its primary feature. The project isn’t meant to be a one-time wonder, but a timeless classic.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: "When nothing has been done, nothing remains undone" and you can claim it all with such eclectic behavior. Laozi believes that the world would go a long way if it simply goes with the flow.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The interior uses height differences to create changes in spatial differentiation, which divides the interior into the living room, study and dining room areas. The TV wall uses a grid display cabinet and ink-textured marble pieces are inserted into the lower portion of the wall as a highlight in variation.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in Jan. 2017 in Taipei City, Taiwan.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Right from the entrance, people can sense the tranquility of the room. The first half of the public area uses medium-colored wood as the primary materials for the finely-grained floor. Without using precious materials for large-area decorations, the main wall is designed with a grayscale and wood grain facade storage.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The space is 140 square meters

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Moving along the middle, people arrive at a private area that is composed of the master bedroom and secondary bedroom. The rare open bathroom inside the master bedroom expands the spaciousness of the bedroom, and the sliding matte-glass door provides appropriate privacy at the right time.
The bathroom’s interior uses a dual dressing table design to increase efficiency. The raised couch is movable with storage spaces placed on both sides to increase spatial practicality. The whole project makes use of wooden and stone materials that give the residence texture, which in turn presents a clean and tidy appearance.
CHALLENGE: The ink-textured marble pieces are also used in the dining room as a long piece of wood is slanted into the original marble to act as a table. The textures of the natural materials correspond to the variations in functions and the magnificent design creates roundness within the residence.
