| DESIGN NAME: Dr.Bei PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sonic Electric Toothbrush INSPIRATION: In China, 85% of Chinese people suffer from periodontal disease, making their gums sensitive and more likely to bleed. We have made a lot of effort to focus on user experience rather than just the cosmetic appearance. Together with our suppliers, we have developed a more efficient, cleaner brush which prevents bacterial growth. Our sandwich type brush layout, high quality materials, and pure design had won the favor of both Asian and European consumers. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Dr.BEI Sonic Electric Toothbrush is designed for the Chinese sensitive gums. It has the features of high frequencyand low amplitude to clean teeth in an efficient manner without damaging the user's gums. The hill and sandwich type brush wire layout is first ever. The colored antibacterial silk deeply cleans the wisdom teeth area while thegray carbon fiber is antibacterial and easy todry. The white-silver ion antibacterial silk is slightly shorter, which allows deep cleaning of the gums. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: In order to match the Bass tooth-brushing method recommended by the American Dental Association, which is a 45-60 degree angle between the bristles and the teeth, we deliberately use the sharp-pointed silk with antibacterial ions and redesign the original bristles. The “hill” structure and "sandwich" type brush wire layout allow the bristles to penetrate deep into the gingival sulcus and clean the teeth more efficiently. In addition to the unique sharpening wire, we also specially use smaller brush head. This combination of brush hair and brush head is more in line with the sensitive oral characteristics of Asians, which improves the oral cleaning range and improves the effect of brushing teeth. A good toothbrush is not only reflected in the brush head, but also in every detail of the design. We use a cylindrical handle with a circumference of 25mm, which is more in line with the design of Asians, especially Chinese. The back wavy lines prevent the handle from slipping. This allows users to have a better experience when brushing. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in February 2017 in Beijing and finished in June 2018 in Beijing. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Every part of this brush had been made through its own distinctive ways. Colored bristles contain antibacterial silver ions, gray bristles contain activated carbon, which offers strong cleanliness, and the white brush is softer and more flexible. The optical mirror polishing mold creates easy-to-clean handle body, and our investment on optical mold is 10 times more than that of an ordinary mold. Moreover, our secondary injection molding process creates a perfect appearance and the scientific brush layout enhances the oral care cleaning effect. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 25mm x Depth 25mm x Height 231mm, and eachbrush weighs 90g. This small head design is easier to use than bigger brushes. Our brush was co-developed with Japanese and German suppliers. The handle is made of food grade materials so that it brings more oral care safety than similar brushes. It is the first time that a soft haired brush has been applied to the electric brush. It also has an original patent for simultaneous high and low brushing wires. The layout of brushing wire adapts to Bass tooth-brushing method. It is more suitable for the sensitive and delicate mouth of Chinese people rather than that of Europeans and Americans. Using magnetic suspension acoustic motor, while 31000 times/minute rotation is efficient and clean already, the elastic rotation structure of the motor is increased even more, which is different from the rigid contact between brush and teeth in previous models. This brush can adjust the power output of the motor flexibly to a specific range. When the applied pressure is too great, it can adjust the elasticity to reduce the damage to gums. Elastic shock absorbers are highly integrated with fixed structures, thus reducing noise to less than 55BD, so that brushing your teeth early will not disturb the users partner.
