| DESIGN NAME: Phenom PRIMARY FUNCTION: Office INSPIRATION: working is important part of life, most of our time are spent for working, we alway think what kind of attitude to face our job? The working atmosphere should be created similar as our life, we can enjoy the time, observe the changing of nautre, thinking quietly and communicate delightedly. That's the office we might need. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In this multiple office space, everyone can have conversation delightedly inside. In term of material, the basic thing is taken, such as cement, bare plywood, natural wood oil and wooden planks. we successfully to complete the whole 500 square meters office with tiny cost. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This project aims to improve working and living conditions of our staff, reconstructing a two-storey (5.5 m height) building by using steel structures. The ground floor of the original building was subdivided into two storeys, with an extra space at the first floor, which ended up with a three-storey building which includes the extra space at the first floor. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The main materials include bare plywood, aluminium,natural wood oil, oak board etc. The main entrance and French windows are at the western face. To prevent the problems caused by the direct solar radiation from the west and maintain the natural brightness indoors at the same time, we moved the main entrance inwards about 3 m then placed the indoor landscape near the French windows. Owing to the poor storey height which is only 2.2 m after the renovation, a rectangular hollow section connecting the ground floor and the first floor was designed. It releases the stress from the poor storey height and improves the aesthetics. Our working function area, meeting room, material sample shelves as well as document shelves are concentrated on the first floor. It is usually a complete opening working space while curtains will be used sometimes. As for the extra space on the first floor, we use it as a restroom for our staff to take a nap. At the second floor, which is our office area, we kept the original concrete ceiling instead of adding too many decorations. Basic wooden materials were mainly used for this floor: wooden floorboards were added on the top of the original floor; environmentally friendly plywood was used for the space dividers and furniture. Furthermore, the natural wax oil was applied on the surface of all the furniture. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 480 Sqaure meters; TAGS: Relax, Quiet, Green, Nature light, Office RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In order to create a comfortable environment for the communications between our clients and designers, the indoor landscape, bookshelves, couches are carefully positioned on the ground floor. Moreover, to meet the requirements of some clients, we even have a western style kitchen with the bar as well as round designed dining tables to let them enjoy a lovely afternoon tea with their great designers. CHALLENGE: Only the west side of construction has natural light, the east side is lack of light seriously, which restrict the functional layout seriously too. The sunshine from west side is very strong, we managed to slove the probelm between direct sunshine and the light we need.
