DESIGN NAME: Multibags 5in1
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Multifunctional Baggage
INSPIRATION: The emancipation of female population fully changed the need for shape, size, function and thus the form of a handbag. Today's modern woman needs a multifunctional handbag to handle her daytime activities and they do not have a time to change it during the day. With her bag she can walk a dog, go to work, shop, visit the gym, go to a theatre, bar... Everywhere with just one handbag. This inspired us to create a multifunctional object that will cope with all these functions - Multibags 5in1.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The unifying element is a basic geometric design with a reinforced circular handle and two sewn side loops. The handle can be used directly or to hold the strap in combination with the side loops. Each multibag can be used separately as a wallet, purse or with a strap as a handbag, bag or packpack. The fastening on the back side don't disturb the minimalist shape. Inside is attached keyring with clip and removable leather purse which can be used separatly or with strap as a small handbag.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Multibags 5in1 is the multifunctional baggage collection. Every Multibag 5in1 can be worn with simple modification in at least 5 different ways: backpack, handbag, bag, purse, wallet... The reinforced circle handle can be used directly while wearing it, but it also serves to fix and hold the strap or rope in combination with the side loops. Inside the multibag is attached a keyring with clip and a removable inner leather purse, which can be also used in different ways - separately as a wallet or with attached leather strap or rope as a small handbag.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: We have been working on this collection since October 2017. Collection Multibags 5in1 was firstly introduced during the fashion show at club Zeme (The Earth), Prague where were presented first two models (Rettangolo and Cappello) in variation with leather straps. Both models were further on the fashion shows at Pilsen and club PonRePo at Prague. This is the first time when we presented model ARCO and previous models in variation with the red ship rope.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Multibags 5in1 collection is made from the smooth or furry bovine leather - a traditional material that is used for its beauty, resistivity, and durability for millennia. It is important for us that the material can be easily recycled when worn out and used as a secondary raw material. Each model is an unrepeatable original due to its unique color and pattern of the hair. After a long experimentation we chose a ship rope as a complementary material instead of the leather strap. We preserved the maximal simplicity of the two elementary materials without any metal fasteners.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Cappello, Rettangolo, Arco - furry and smooth genuine bovine leather, ship rope or leather strap, zipper, unlined interior. Front side: black&white furry leather, back side: smooth black leather. Ship rope: red, zipper: red.
Cappello: 41 x 55 x 7cm.
Rettangolo: 35 x 52 x 7 cm.
Arco: 38 x 55 x 7cm.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Carying and using of the Multibags 5in1 gives the owner a freedom to use their own fantasy and to experiment even further!
CHALLENGE: The emancipation of female population fully changed the need for shape, size, function and thus the form of a handbag. Far gone is the time when a woman had only a perfumed handkerchief in her handbag. Today's modern woman needs a multifunctional hangbag to handle her daytime activities and does not have a time to change it during the day. With her purse she can walk a dog, go to work, have a work lunch, shop, visit the gym, go to a theatre, bar... Anywhere and everywhere with just one handbag.
