| DESIGN NAME: Gathesa PRIMARY FUNCTION: Wine Packaging INSPIRATION: The design needed to capture the client’s love of their ranch and cowboy-at-heart personality. They created the name Gathesa from their sons’ names: Gabriel, Theodore & Samuel. Our solution leveraged this connection to family by creating a custom monogram from their sons’ initials surrounded by an elaborate Western-inspired, retro-modern label design. The label is embossed like a decorative horse saddle and leverages a laser die-cut through the label like an ear notch used on cattle ranches. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Centurion Family Vineyards developed their brand name, Gathesa, by combining portions of their sons’ names: Gabriel, Theodore, and Samuel. Our solution leveraged this personal connection to family by creating a custom monogram from their sons’ initials surrounded by an elaborate Western-inspired, retro-modern label design. The label is embossed much like a decorative horse saddle and the label even leverages a laser die-cut through the label much like an ear notch utilized on cattle ranches. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: We made use of digital printing for this short-run boutique winery. The label was then embellished with a tactile varnish and embossing to give it a rich textural feel like a embossed leather saddle. The final touch was a monogram designed to feel like a cattle brand that was laser diecut through the label exposing the bottle behind.
