| DESIGN NAME: Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Golden Bay PRIMARY FUNCTION: Hotel INSPIRATION: To maximize the local characteristics present in its design, we combine design languages of Chinese traditional elements and modern fashion, which makes the architecture feel steady, reserved- qualities that remind one of Chinese flavor- but at the same time lively, variant, and modern. These elements bring a clear attraction to the Golden Bay. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Golden Bay is designed by us which has brought fame and popularity to its previously designed work, Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Nanshan. Now we not only continues its journey of giving Marriott a modern look in the new era but also becomes the first designer to design for Shenzhen’s first-ever vacation-style Marriott hotel and Shenzhen’s first international brand hotel at Shenzhen’s largest waterfront holiday travel area. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: As you come to the public area corridor on the third floor, the signs lead you through different banquet and conference rooms. We adopt special architecture design techniques to make guests feel everything indoor is simple but high quality; comfortable yet luxurious. There are in total four restaurants with different styles. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In the lobby, you can see interspersed warm-feeling original woodcut slice instead of the cold stone material to bring closeness to the guests. This also cleverly provides private partitions, allowing guests to feel a sense of esteem in such details upon entering the hotel. The special type of folding fans sitting in front will definitely attract the guests’ attention. The geometrical flower petals are lively on the fans, reducing the guests’ boredom during check-ins and check-outs. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The golden beach is a main feature of the hotel. This artwork is designed with the concept of incessant thoughts and dreams and intends to bring a zen of “looking at the mountain but not at the mountain; looking at the water but not at the water” into the space of such holiday hotel. The artwork hanging at the entrance is like a folding fan, intriguing the guests towards the great hall space with its half-seen and half-hidden characteristics. TAGS: Shenzhen, Marriott, Hotel, Design, Interior Design, Resort, Enjoy, CCD RESEARCH ABSTRACT: As guests sit in the lobby waiting for matters to be sorted out, they will feel like sitting in a modern version of a tea house at Dapengsuocheng that offers guests a place of relaxation. Here, you will surely find the bar that suits the traditional definition and offers you drinks but there is more apart from a sofa area surrounded by fans, you can also see a reading hall just as you can see in a private house, which is formed by surrounding Chinese bookshelves. CHALLENGE: The traditional exercise space now has furniture that has a touch of humanities in its details, as well as small artworks such as fine book shelves, round-looking art pieces, the metallic-webbed old-style folding fans, and interesting rippled ceilings…. Together they bring you good memories of the days gone by as you stroll under the lights with mystical colors.
