| DESIGN NAME: Dreamer PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential Space INSPIRATION: What kind of creativity will be produced when a client holding wild imagination towards home meets HC Interior Design-Design Director-Pai Mo,Chang who does not limit himself to specific style and is good at turning the space into a fun place?The collision between traditional oriental Feng-Shui and belief philosophy mixed with western design and art techniques can accomplish one creative residence. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The hallway is under the influence of the owners free style in favor of diversity. According to the clients belief, the hallway wall is assembled with cut boards painted in gold to design into the arc shaped wall resembling the big belly of Maitreya Buddha. The streamline style corresponds with the spatial movement, adding more fun of harmony to the environment. Moreover, the passage also adopts the interesting image of time tunnel for the design. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Through carpentry, delicate curve and arc polished with dedication, and rich source of light and lighting design, Diamond Mountain is sparkling with crystal-clear and bright glister. When the window is opened, the natural scenery brightens up the space while serenity fills up the space when the curtain covers the window. The special curtain and lighting design helps the space exhibit different fields of personality under multiple scenarios. The cozy-while living room and the neutral color based home furnishings are decorated to express the high-end and majestic fashion attitude of the living room. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The client wishes to make bold elaboration in style while the development of each space is unprecedented with considerable challenge. So the unique sophistication of the designer and the basis of material usage have created a more interesting housing for the client. The squared and delicate kitchen layout shows a light and graceful space through the marbled flooring, white wall and mirror reflection of metal kitchenware. The bar and stove areas are separated to meet the different culinary habits of people while the surface is also easy for cleaning and maintenance SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Indoor space approximately 580 square feet. TAGS: racing car, segmented flooring, carpentry curve wall, Chinese Feng-Shui RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The owner is a fan of high end cars, so the designer builds a special parking space for the owners favorite cars. The use of yellow, orange and black colors is associated with the sensation of speed and tension on the racing field. The ground parked by cars is layered with bricks with wooden pattern to build up the luxurious sensation of high end car show room. Elevated rooftop, see-through trap-door and spacious floor space plus the Maitreya belly of the hall virtually magnifies the dimension and value of parking lot. CHALLENGE: Segmented flooring is rare in residential area but has been fully adopted in this case. One can immediately perceive the walking in air feeling upon entering the door. The geometric segment connects the hall in upstairs with the parking lot downstairs, highlighting the virtual and real connection to enhance the visual impact to the space. Apart from the wooden long dining table, is the Diamond Mountain drawing all attention and it is re-interprets the traditional viewpoints and features the simplistic and experienced design sense of the West.
