DESIGN NAME: Oberbayern
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House
INSPIRATION: We believes that the profundity and significance of space live in the sustainability derived from the unity of interrelated and codependent human, space, and environment.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: With a standard of architectural lines, stands strikingly the design studio construction with an appearance of origami style. Its outline of the building with an overlapping structure of as-cast-finish mold and plate mold on which sunlight scatters forming interesting gradations of light and shade, part embellishments of bamboo branches, and all of these shows a yin-and-yang combination of hardness and softness.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The exterior wall of the house comes from the imagination of the beautiful mountain and it makes the house like the oasis in the city. Then, the space in front of the building is specifically created for kids to have fun. It used eco-friendly material that the rain drops can easily penetrate the ground so as to keep the soil moisture. The building materials apply to the building are not added with extra adornment, we use plain color and recycled materials. Combined with Japanese, Chinese and South American architectural elements to realize the Postmodernism.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project design started in June 2012 in Chiayi City, finished in June 2013.And built from June 2013 to June 2015 December.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Building Lot Size:438 meter square,Building Style / four-floor house / Floor Space / Internal floor space is about 848 meter square / Home Design / Garage, pool, living room, cooking and dining area, video room, meeting room, 4 bedrooms, sitting room, studio,and study room.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: With an audacious and eco-friendly design way, the designer uses the skill of origami to design the wall. The ground is paved with eco-friendly material that the rain drops can easily penetrate the ground so as to keep the soil moisture and we also use the same skill on the top of building to insulate the heat and make the house breathable. The materials apply to the building are not added with extra adornment, they use plain color and recycle materials to show the original beauty of the materials and it is also the eco-friendliest way.
CHALLENGE: The enclosing wall is covered with several pieces of cements that are cut in different thickness and are placed on the wall in different angles, that can receive much sunlight. The wall in the living room is made up of several rocks that are cut into thin pieces, every piece weighs up to more than 100 kg so that it needs advanced architectural technique to put these rocks into the building. The playground is paved with eco-friendly material that the rain drops can easily penetrate the ground so as to keep the soil moisture. Design and Implementation of Embedded Systems for Smart Home.

NAME: zendo
PROFILE: The head chief designer Fabio Su, who was born in Taiwan. Because of studied in Argentina, he had many chances to travel around the world. This experience made his design has the elements of west culture, and Mr. Su is also good at combining the west and east characteristics into his design. Trying to use the new construction methods and design elements to present the modest way of traditional east. It makes his design not only fashion but also graceful temperament. ZENDO co. which is owned by Mr. Su is focus on how to combine the architecture and nature smoothly.
In this generation of over seeking to innovation, using the eco-friendly way into the design is what makes ZENDO special.

I am in awe of the creative genius behind this residential house design. The origami style stands out and is truly a work of art. I am absolutely in awe of Fabio Su's award-winning work, "Oberbayern". It is a remarkable example of good design and sustainability, successfully combining the yin-and-yang of hardness and softness in its origami-style architecture and eco-friendly materials.
