| DESIGN NAME: 751 Design Store PRIMARY FUNCTION: Pop Up Shop INSPIRATION: The end user of urban construction is every ordinary people, so designers hope to raise public awareness through the crowd-founding platform and enhance their sense of participation in urban construction, to complete the renewal and regeneration of the city. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 751 Design Shop appears in 751D Park as a pop-up store during the Beijing International Design Week, offering a range of designer products for visitors to enjoy and buy. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: To accord with the old factory can, designers choose circular desk as the exhibition desk. Then according to the different function requirements, they adjust the height of each exhibition desk. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in September 2015 in Beijing and finished in October 2015 in Beijing, and was exhibited in Beijing International Design Week in October 2015. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In order to better integrate with the original environment, designers try to avoid major demolition and construction. At the same time, they choose Wooden display cabinet, space ash spray paint and so on as the main material. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Each desk is linked by curve surface which looks like floating water. The whole exhibition stand is like a Cascading which flows all around in the space as entirety. TAGS: Pop-up store, exhibition, 751 D Park, design store, temporary store RESEARCH ABSTRACT: 751 Design Store is a pop up store designed by Update Studio for Beijing Design Week. During the design week, 751 Design Store pop up at 751 D park where exhibits lots of designer products for visitors to enjoy and purchase. This project aims to mix the new design with the existing old factory and also provides a futurist space for 751 Design Store. CHALLENGE: The difficulty of this design is that we should not only let the space and 751 ancient factory buildings, but also let the space itself have a certain sense of the future.
