DESIGN NAME: Labyrinth Homegarden
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House
INSPIRATION: The project records the track of thinking and searching for answers, and attempts to translate the traditional culture. Designers try to find the channel of light in this house. At the same time, she tried to sort out the appropriate activity streamline so that the original useless corner is reactivated. In addition to the influence of sunlight, designers also need to coordinate some piecemeal functions, merge similar items, and find a space classification method.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a work between the old building renovation and furniture design, hoping to respond to the complex needs of life, but also to bear the inner appeal of poetry. Designers make full use of furniture design, create more storage space, but also solve the small household storage problems.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Designers make limited space become flexible, use leaps to create small spaces that echo each other, and bring new possibilities for the transformation of old houses.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2013 in Beijing and finished in January 2014 in Beijing.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The project is an interior space renovation of a 100-square-meter old house in Beijing, which was built in the 1990s. Designers sharpened the edges of the concept with the daily triviality of desire, conspired with the existing architectural boundaries, and wanted to be close to the handmade delicacy.
CHALLENGE: Designers tried to break through the conventional design idea and made wooden furniture on site. They opened the partial wall, so that the restricted space becomes transparent and flexible. And made use of the cline to create small spaces that echo each other and create new possibilities for old houses.
