PRIMARY FUNCTION: Package Design
INSPIRATION: Tea has long be considered a cultural carrier. Studies have found that there are iconic totems in almost all nations that can tell stories. So we tried to apply the totem icons in out design to tell the stroies about different teas.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Based upon the understanding of the Chinese business people's pursuit for quality life in their trips, the selected teabag packages are designed with totem icons that belong to the country where the tea originates, e.g., dragons, phoenix and crane for China, while elephants fro India. Special printing techniques are applied in the package production to go with the high quality. The packages can be used as storage boxes afterwards.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The uniqueness of different teas are represented by the illutrations specially designed for each teabag. The overall orange is used to lower the package cost.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in March 2017 and finished in May 2018.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The sense of high quality is demonstrated by the orange box in grained Leather texture, black gilding logo, eco-friendly paper in specific pantone colors, enhanced patterns.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This is the tea series to be continuously developed. More illustrations in the packages are necessary and effective measure to match the cultural background for various tea consumers.
CHALLENGE: It is time-consuming task to study the different tea cultures and present them in proper illustrations, but it has proved an effective way to attract customers with the sense of beauty and ceremony in the fine design of the packages.
