| DESIGN NAME: Black Jack and Black Jacky PRIMARY FUNCTION: Washbasin INSPIRATION: High quality, durability as well as emotional and aesthetic value form the basic principles of our work. In each one of our designs we commit ourselves to the uniqueness, expressiveness and simplicity of form. The materials is carefully selected before designing the washbasin. Important was the high quality in waterresistance, a great range of colours and high workability for some assets we always like to do to make the thing multifunctional and undependence of other facilities. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The puristic nocturne (black colored) monoblock washbasin made of black Corean gives the article of daily use a noble character. Black Jack and the sloping sister Black Jacky are two free-standing vanities – in this use one for the bathroom and the smaller one “Jacky” for the lavatory. Its attractive and unique design, which is primarily determined by the elegant play with their volumes and high-quality materials are the main characteristics of black jack and jacky. Look at the detail for soap. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The double in black has been designed in 2014 together with the house, where the vanities are in daily use. The main character is in the formal language, which depends on the human body. The area of the knees is by both washbasins broke clear, for comfortable use. Since the first use in 2014, black jack was also used as baby bathtube, which was one of the idea by the designing process. Because the design has passed the time of probation by the whole family – kids and adults, now it´s time to be released to the public and try to serialize. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: washbasin made of Corian, color: nocturne SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Black Jack: H 92cm , B 88cm , T 88cm; Black Jacky: H 92cm , B 48cm , T 50cm TAGS: washbasin, washtable, soap, bowl, visionary, scaled to human being, corean, sloping, black is beautiful and useful RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Our challenge was to build a stylish, modern, unique but functional paire of washbasins. The aim was, to design for both situations – lavatory and sleeping and bathroom – a furniture for daily use in a similar style but no copy. Black Jacky´s base is sloping, so it also can be installed in rooms with pitched roof area. Necessary technical installation is inside and not visible, but easily accessible in case of a problem. A further criterion was to create joint-free surfaces for easy cleaning and the multifunctional use, a use for the whole family (from baby till adult) was our concern. CHALLENGE: The difficulties by this design were, to shape it well for the human body by having enough place inside for the technical equipment, For the details we need an well educated partner with high craftsmanship for different small but important details: for example to do glyphs with are slanting. NAME: ad2 architekten ZT KG andrea daemon - andreas doser PROFILE: We are a couple of architects – Andrea Daemon und Andreas Doser, both born in 1972 - who moved to Burgenland, Austria for both: to life (since 2007) and run a firm – the architect´s office: ad2 architekten ZT KG (since 2010) - in a marvelous natural area. Our professional story with ad2 started with the award so called the best house 2008 for our own residential building. Our design is based on profound basic evaluation, burning desire of the employer, the function and the topography of the plot. Seamless transition from inside to outside, fascinating and light-flooded space with splended view. The furniture design refers to the design of the skin of the building – the spirit of outside continous inside. The focal point of our work: placed well in the landscape and the idea must be seen as a clear thread running through - in furniture and architecture design. |
