| DESIGN NAME: Interstellar table PRIMARY FUNCTION: Entrance Table INSPIRATION: The phrase Things are not always what they seem is the main source of inspiration for this piece. When we look at the world, we make judgements about what the things we see actually are, based on past experience. The composition invites the spectator to observe. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Interstellar is a commissioned work developed for hospitality or residential application. The composition is defined by a smooth star looking metal base and a square or round glass top. Under artistic appreciation, shapes, colors and strengths, are well balanced and integrated. The main characteristic of the design is its off center main intersection point that produces elegant asymmetrical characteristic. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The composition is made of eight square tubes of 2x2 inches mild steel tubing. Each section is taped at the corners and tig welded. The glass is a 1.5 X 1.5 meter 12mm tempered glass. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: the table covers an area of 150cm x 150cm at a 71 height TAGS: table, metal, design, custom furniture, furniture, glass, unique, RESEARCH ABSTRACT: personal observation, and reading from the designer CHALLENGE: To developed a start type table that differed from similar looking tables on the market. NAME: Fabrizio Constanza Design PROFILE: Fabrizio Constanza is an observer of life. His inspiration comes from emotions generated by existence. By watching life passing by, from reflections of the world, past nostalgia and future cues, Fabrizio captures and materialize emotions into objects. A clear example is 0710 Oxbow, based on the 2013 Baltimore derby winner. Objects become transmitters of emotions. A table that elegantly represents the human body named Organica, or a coat stand with slick curves for the corporate world, simply known as Lande, are exquisite examples. |
