| DESIGN NAME: MO INK PRIMARY FUNCTION: Indoor public trash can INSPIRATION: Mo, also called ink stick, is a traditional Chinese writing articles. Using the color change of ink, as the inspiration for the design of the office trash can, it reflects people's dependence on resources, and has the implication of symbiosis and recycling. Just as ink can dye clean water black, putting un-recyclable waste into recyclable trash cans, which will pollute recyclable resources. In order to sorting trash more convenient, the trash can be designed for water and ink color by psychological suggestion: recycled trash can use light color transparent plastic and un-recyclable trash can use black transparent plastic. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: People always show something beautiful outside, but not good things are hidden. Therefore, the trash cans are made of translucent plastic. Through the barrel, the classification of garbage can be conveniently observed. The recyclable trash cans are made of light-colored transparent plastic, while the non-recyclable trash cans are made of black transparent plastic. The shape can be freely according to the environment. Put it together. Transparent and black can see the classification of garbage more intuitively. This design is based on people's psychological design. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Recyclable trash cans are made of transparent plastic. Non-returnable trash cans are designed in black plastic and can be separated or combined. Transparent recyclable bins suggest that people put recyclables in transparent recyclable bins. Black non-returnable trash can suggest that people put non-recyclable garbage in it. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project began in Shenyang, China in December 2017 and completed in Shenyang, China, in February 2018. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The trash can is made of semi-transparent plastic. The curved front and the straight back of the trash bin is separated to injection molding, then welding each part, and complete trash can finally. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The height of the trash can is 710mm, the top diameter is 300mm, and the bottom diameter is 450 mm. Results and Insights: Designs are based on the results of human psychological behaviors. CHALLENGE: The hardest part of this design activity is the research part. Through a large number of market research and questionnaires and human psychological research, summary and analysis. The intrinsic factor of design itself is to start from people's psychology, and the possibility of production, information availability and technical appearance can be achieved.
