| DESIGN NAME: Bee PRIMARY FUNCTION: Delivery box INSPIRATION: Pollination is the most known delivery mechanism in the nature and the bees are best known species in that process. So, we thought of a delivery motorcycle as a modern pollination vehicle and designed the box like a shape of the bee’s abdomen. A group of Bee delivery motorcycles fly over the city and deliver the packages. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The shape of the box is visually integrated into the shape of the motorcycle. The color distinct the motorcycle from all other vehicles in the road even in the dark regards to the elegant light box on top of the box. The box, as a product, is function oriented and to use it is ergonomically perfect. The size of the trunk is totally generous and easily accessible. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The front side of the box is backrest and the back is the opening. While the delivery man is riding the motorcycle, the box stays still and rigid. the trunk lid opens upward providing the suitable access to the inside. The bracket of the box is designed to be simply removed so the delivery man could access the fuel gas cap whenever its needed. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in October 2016 in Tehran, Iran and finished in February, 2017. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The main material is fiberglass and polyester resin but the outer surface is made of self-colored Epoxy gelcoat. The bracket is made of stainless steel and the lightbox material is acrylic sheet known as Plexiglass.
