| DESIGN NAME: Midori PRIMARY FUNCTION: Chair INSPIRATION: Midori takes inspiration from the Japan style for furniture and interiors. The name itself reminds of liquor, very typical in the Japanese culture and taste. Clean and radical shapes that reflect Japanese essentialism. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Midori is a dining chair conceived to be able to easily adapt to different types of interiors and placements on the market. Frame is made with bent metal pipes connected with a frame under the seat. Seat and backrest are made in wood cnc machinered for an optimal confort and look. The multiple options of colours and finishing make Midori suitable both for classic and modern interiors. The optional upholstered seat makes the chair even more valuable and places it in an even higher market segment OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Interaction is as simple as that: seat on Midori, enjoy your meal with family & friends, relax. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Development of Midori took six months, made in Milan and San Giovanni al Natisone. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Furniture Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Bent metal pipes welded with frame and powder coated. CNC machinered wood for seat and backrest. Upholstered optional seat. Second part of our research focused on client's technology and production plants. Third part of the research focused on Japanese essentialism and furniture design. CHALLENGE: The main challenge has been coming up with a project of an entry level dining chair but with a sophisticated feeling. Midori is made up of very few elements, therefore each one of them has to be perfectly in line with the overall look of the project.
