| DESIGN NAME: Atlasbalans M2 PRIMARY FUNCTION: Deep wave treatment tool INSPIRATION: The product is designed for simplicity and with a minimalistic approach. Its circular form is scaled to fit nicely in the palm of the hand, balancing its center of gravity. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Treatment tool used by professional therapists to ease pain and muscle tension. The Atlasbalans product is a new efficient way to treat muscles and connective tissue. Waves are spread widely and deeply throughout the body increasing mobility and relaxation, as well as improving flow and circulation. The comfortable and gentle treatment gets rid of tension, loosens up locked connective tissue and increases agility. Precision manufactured for precise tolerances in metal and aluminum. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Ergonomically, by putting the main weight inside the hand, allowing for alternative grips around the spherical shaped main body, center of gravity is kept close to the treated body part, enhancing control in treatment and optimizing the skills of the therapist. Weight is of importance in order to get the right depth of vibrations. Well balanced ergonomics and a unique grip, similar to holding a tennis ball, allow for maximum mobility of the wrist of the therapist and effective treatment. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project has been carried out during 2017 and is currently under production, being introduced on the market in Europe and US in spring 2018. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Front cone is machined steel. The compact body is cast anodized aluminum, housing the tight transmission and special designed and unique internal mechanics. The different waves could modularly be altered depending on purpose and body type. There are several exchangeable tips depending on treatment scenario. The tips have a metal core and silicon outer shape. A separate power source with controls allows the tool to be as small and ergonomic as possible. In series of prototypes, products are developed with functional, ergonomic and design considerations. Experiences from the award-winning first M1 product, has led to a further refined M2 model with significantly enhanced ergonomics. Prototypes have been tried and tested with feedback incorporated in the final product. Atlasbalans and Frank Etc. work in close cooperation regarding function, design and brand. CHALLENGE: Since weight of the tool is of great importance for effective treatment, careful consideration has to be put in ergonomics for both the therapist and the treated individual.
