DESIGN DETAILS
DESIGN NAME:
Jose Cuervo Lounge

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Hospitality suite

INSPIRATION:
It was inspired by the old ways of building a wooden ship. it also depicts the bounce of the tennis ball during the game and it is deeply rooted in the functional needs.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The project takes on consideration all the climate context, strong winds from the sea, hot temperatures and the direct exposure to sun rays. The steretomy made out of thin slices of MDF, same as the canvas ceiling with space between the stretches offers no resistance to the wind. For the same reasons the space is fresh even in the middle of the day.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The stand operates in the commercial area of the Mexican Tennis Tournament and hosts the V.I.P.s from the event, the most coveted, socially speaking. it serves signature drinks from the Jose Cuervo family and food from a very high end restaurant. The stand is transparent from the outside to let the people peep at the celebrities inside.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
It works from february 24, 2018, to the 3rd of march, saturday too when the final is disputed. It operates from 4 pm to 01 am. Located in Acapulco, inside the Princess Hotel during the Abierto Mexicano de Tenis.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
the structure is made of steel, with the main poles that enter the riser for a better grip and resistance. The MDF with okume wood cover shaped panels where CNC cuted and treated with varnish with a bit of color and the edges painted black. the sofas were designed and built. the bar too , keeping the line of the whole stand.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
it is 7 mts. width by 11,50 mts long by 2,44 mts on the body and 60 sms extra for the ceiling. the floor is divided in a way that allow us to make multiple configurations in a near future for other events. 3 x 3, 6 x 3, 9 x 6 and more the same happens with the walls that modulate in 3 mts long by 2,44 height.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
The result was obtained after 3 different roads explored with the design department from Ninja, the agency. The most important way to get there was the need to be inmune to the wind, sun and heat, there's no rain during this season in Acapulco. the pattern of the lateral panels describe the bounce of the ball in the tennis court. The ceiling was inspired by sail boats, but for monetary reason all the ropes to extend and retract were changed by a fix arrangement.

CHALLENGE:
The hardest part was to create a structure on a limited budget of 17,000 american dollars with floor and a ceiling, transportable, reusable in different kind of events and fairs; that's why the stand allows multiple configurations.
