PRIMARY FUNCTION: Jetbike
INSPIRATION: Bladeless fans and hubless wheels was my source of inspiration.The main idea behind this concept is to solve the problem of transportation at the future cities by motor/drone riding.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: XBIKE is a transformable passenger DroneBike. The main idea behind this futuristic concept is providing extreme functionality with the power of emotional adventure. In this way, XBIKE developed by two technologies. The fist is the technology of bladeless fans. and the secound is hubless wheels. Applying bladeless fan technology, provided a special combination of structure and efficiency. In this innovative technology, fans produce 4 times more constant airflow.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: In vehicles like XBIKE that developed with complex technologies, usability is very important. In case of Drone-Bike transformation from one form to another have to be easy and without any unexpected tensions. In this respect, universal joints and special linkages provide a smooth movement.
Hubless wheels are wheels without center. so they offer a usable space. I used this space to blow airflow. A powerful engine blows air from slits around the ring and the result is a multiplied airflow.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2016 in Tehran,Iran and finished in february 2017 in Tehran,Iran.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Airplane Aluminium alloy used in order to make all body accident-resistant and light weight. Other parts are plastics and stainless steel. Considering ergonomics at rider posture and seat, handles are adjustable and seat produced from leather.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Future cities will not limited to land vehicles and and recent developments in aerospace sciences proof the role of drones in future cities. This conceptual framework has chosen to suggest a solution for the problem of population and urban transportation. I started ideation phase with personal vehicles and there I found an interconnected area between personal transportation, land-free vehicles and energy efficiency: Drone-Bikes. These special vehicles are transformable passenger drones developed to be able to reduce energy consumption and improve mobility across urban spaces.
CHALLENGE: In projects like XBIKE in which main form is transforming interchangeably, preparing an aerodynamic form is really hard and time consuming. Also, main frame and structure have to be flexible because the whole design is systematically interdependent. In this project, I tried to design a special frame to answer the question of flexibility and suggested an organic solution for its external form. Worked with different softwares and used variety of tools sculptured an aerodynamic shape with organic gestalt and soft lines.
Bladeless fan and hubless wheels are two creative solutions applied to main structure to advance airflow efficiency in drone mode and handling efficiency in motor mode.
