DESIGN NAME: Pabellon Cuervo
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Music Venue
INSPIRATION: The space its strongly industrial so we decided to keep it that way and re-mark those roots adapting containers for bars and bathrooms, using industrial materials in different ways, and space factory style floor painting spreads through all the venue.
(reflective) was brought to the design step and fabrication.
The dressing rooms for the talent are hosted inside a 42 feet trailer.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The clients came with a need to make a big empty warehouse, attractive for a young crowd, public and promotors, with a reduced budget.
The project fit the needs reusing assets from the creating a contemporary look with mostly re-used, up cycled materials.
Another important feature is that the space is used for different kind of vents and it is totally disassembled in 4 days, and rebuilt in 7.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The space is allowed to host 4000 people at maximum capacity but the project considered multiple configurations in order to reduce the space if desired.Has handicapped facilities.
The bars and counter bars are movable and can be displayed as a big one, two, three or four smaller bars.
There's a VIP rised area with privileged views to the stage with lounges and another bar and a place called Cuervo Spot, than more that its used by Jose Cuervo Tequila Brand to invite their clients or customers depending on the show.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project will remain on site for as long as possible, and its dismantled and rebuilt once or twice a year.
It started operations in the firsts months of the year, but it is still a work in progress because the client ask for improvements all the time.
It is located in Colonia Granjas Mexico, just aside of Palacio de los Deportes, a renowned show and event venue in Ciudad de Mexico.
It works eventually when its rented for concerts and festivals, with 4 to 15 events a month in average.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The production was done by the one of the clients, OCESA, with their providers, while the agency was supervising the construction to meet the design objectives.
Containers previously used in festivals were cut, welded or rebuilt.
Scaffolding structures frames all exits and are the support to all signage.
Bars were made out of containers but the V.I.P. area and Main Bars were designed and built to the project with a heavy duty use in mind are made of steel with wheels and have multiple configurations.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: the space is very big, but the dimensions of the work done are variable depending on the confirguration.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The research, conceptualization, design , render and supervision
was made by the whole design, industrial and graphic, from the agency with Juan Chavez and Mariano Badaracco as heads of project, and Claudia Collado as marketing leader.
CHALLENGE: The main challenge was the budget, tight for such a big space.
We had to came up with cost effective solutions for everything.
For decorating the empty space we brought the scaffolding to the table, because the place its totally metallic and nothing can be attached to it, not a single point of welding was used to bring more stability to those structures with lots of different plans, designs and calculations were made in order to obtain this, more for a city that has earthquakes in a regular basis.
A noise catching object was designed and built to minimize to rebound of sound.
