DESIGN NAME: Choice Hybrid Market Design
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Space experience
INSPIRATION: Different from other traditional supermarket, the project demands a relaxing merchandise atmosphere instead of cold, emotionless, thin purchasing experience. Therefor the project reference warm and casual inspirations rather than classic supermarket information. The project has located three breakdowns before start up: emotional lighting controls, concept elements grand unity, and customer experience focusing.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Located in China, it is a brand new experience of market shopping.
It contains both food court and supermarket functions in a two thousands five hundred square meters area.
The concept comes from the word hybrid. Elements basically divided into two sections, impulsive and Casual. Impulsive design applied in product merchandising areas while casual design applied in public sitting area and restaurant zones. But coherently in ceiling design we managed to keep both designs as one, by maintain blink white ribbons surround all ceilings.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Visual communication, the design aimed to expend daily objects into design elements, for example, mirror application in beauty area, cartoon objects in baby care area, etc.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: 2 months design and 2 months construction, located in HangZhou, China

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Mainly timber patterned aluminum material ; tiles, acrylic laser cutting tech. Plastic board suspended ceilings.
