| DESIGN NAME: Design with a Conscience PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential Interior Design INSPIRATION: The duplex is a meticulously curated environment bathed in endless sunshine and highlighted by subdued palette throughout. Wooden accents and tranquil atmospheric elements are ingeniously used, from large-scale decorations such as wall surfaces to delicate touches such as furniture, contributing to a distinctive design language. Besides aesthetic, designer values eco-design by keeping original architectural details and making use of abundant sunlight to eliminates light sources to save energy. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The 1,830sqft duplex is highlighted by use of wooden accents and tranquil atmospheric elements. Lining the large window by the dining room is a L-shaped wooden storage system that keeps all objects at bay without blocking the view outside. The spot on other side is a room of white and harmonious wooden tones with hidden door, creating a seamless flow throughout. The transparent staircases invite outdoors in and blurs the boundary in-between, setting a promising tone for more surprises to come. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Since the homeowner is an architect, insight from his aesthetically professional point of view was of credited throughout the project journey. With countless meetings and fine tuning the layouts through to the detail drawings and overall design, the expectation and result on the design had improved immensely. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Ecozmo eco-paint was aptyly applied to walls since it is a natural clay derived paint material that allows a more breathable wall layer to adapt to the humid local weather. In a long run, it eases out the maintenance that needed to be taken care of and create a stress-free living space in a long run. Also, the design involves a highly precise planning in advance to create a sustainable environment, that the homeowners need not to worry about taking down any existing decorations or interior elements even when they rent it out or sell the property in the future. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: - TAGS: Harmonious, welcoming, warm, homey, seamless RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Minimal style are the brief offered and to ensure this 1,830 sqft apartment are of bright and cosy ambience. Durability and eco-friendly is another crucial element that has been put into consideration. CHALLENGE: The challenge on this particular design is that the designer had to comply to the detailed and precise dimension and requirement set by the homeowner who's is an architect. Apart from meeting the specified measurement, designer had to ensure the interior are aesthetically pleasing and be able to delivery the mood and ambience the homeowner are asking for.
