Entrance RFID Reader

INSPIRATION:
We wanted to achieve as minimalism shape of the casing as possible. Clear geometric solid with soft radius and nice made chamfer edge on a glass panel. Daily using product is well resistant due to hard glass top cover and offers the usage in a lot of exteriors and interiors.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
These smart devices for contactless identification stand out for their clean shaped luxurious design and glass surface with intuitive LED backlight as a navigation light. In addition, their key features also are an automatic dimming (in light conditions it makes the LED backlight brighter) and vibration feedback when a key is pressed for PIN input.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Benefits of product are Automatic LED backlight-dimming. Vibration feedback for PIN input. Luxurious design with various colours. Combination of glass elements and an intuitive LED backlight as guidance light. Compact water-resistant housing for easy implementation and any purpose. Various types of output communication interface. Support standard types of smart cards and proximity badges at 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz. Available in rectangular and square shape.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in May 2016 in Czechia and finished in December 2016 in Czechia.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Water resistant plastic case and hard top glass panel.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
Dimensions of slim type 123 × 53 × 20 mm (4.84" × 2.09" × 0.79") and square type 85 × 85 × 20 mm (3.35" × 3.35" × 0.79").

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
Cominfo's Dual RFID Proximity readers support smart cards and proximity badges at 125 kHz and 13.56 MHzfrequency in read-only or read/write mode. They are also compatible with NFC technology. These smart devices for contactless identification stand out for their clean shaped luxurious design and glass surface with intuitive LED backlight as a navigation light. In addition, their key features also are an automatic dimming (in light conditions it makes the LED backlight brighter) and vibration feedback when a key is pressed for PIN input. According to the configuration, dual RFID Proximity readers is equipped with WIEGAND, RS485 and USB interfaces for easy communication with other devices. Benefits of product are Automatic LED backlight-dimming. Vibration feedback for PIN input. Luxurious design with various colours. Combination of glass elements and an intuitive LED backlight as guidance light. Compact water-resistant housing for easy implementation and any purpose. Various types of output communication interface. Support standard types of smart cards and proximity badges at 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz. Available in rectangular and square shape.

CHALLENGE:
The main goal was to create unique luxury looking casing without bolts and visible fixation. Another challenge has been glass panel production and its shiny chamfer edge. Final challenge was setting of LED light intensity in all conditions and good working vibration feedback of front panel (numeric version).
