| DESIGN NAME: House of Light PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residence INSPIRATION: Given the moist and rainy weather in Yilan, the firmed-texture of rosewoods are widely decorated in the house, e.g. front gate grilles, doors on the exterior and interior, large tables, staircases. The floors adorned with wood-grain bricks are elegant and convenient for maintenance. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Connecting every floor in the house, the big spiral staircase with the black handrails intensifies the visuals. The illuminations, concentrically installed underneath the staircase, perfectly show the beauty of light. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The consistent gray sets off the magnificent atmosphere. The pillars equally separate the hall space into the living and dining room, in which the glittering glass screens manifest the effect of visual security. In the dining room, people can see the outdoor scenery through the glass curtains. On the other hand, people can see from the outdoor the big dining table and spiral staircase. The amazing views exist ubiquitously in the house. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in Dec. 2017 in Yilan County, Taiwan. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The rosewood grilles, widely decorated in the villa, suggest the visual penetrating and privacy-secured features. The modern building ornamented with fair-faced concrete and glass is lustering. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This space is 1100 square meters. TAGS: Interior Design RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Located at the beautiful Yilan, the villa “House of light” is big, luxurious and harmoniously coexisting with natural environment. CHALLENGE: Constituting design styles by distinct materials, the designer demonstrates the aesthetics proficiency in constructions and materials that promote the state of space to the highest level.
