DESIGN NAME: Croatoan Cafeteria
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Caffeteria and shop
INSPIRATION: The main idea is to put the accent on the coffee itself and to place the coffee-machine in the center of the bar. The material palette is clean and simple- gray terrazzo tops and sides for the bar and table-tops, natural plywood and black-painted steel elements. Every element is used in simple combination with the others and the clear gray-painted walls plus natural concrete floor and the line of cement tiles in it. The lighting scheme is also just to help and support the other main elements.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Croatoan cafeteria and coffee store is a brand new place in the city of Plovdiv, located on the ground level of old existing building on the corner of two busy boulevards. It is located on a single level on total area of just 25 sqm and divided as following: entrance hall with small bar and place for customers, and in addition a small hall with three tables and area for merchandising - cups, mugs, t-shirts, bags and books, plus service spaces, connected with almost invisible doors.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: One of the main reasons for happening of this project was the trust in the architects coming by the client who fully understand and respect our design and believe that this is the right way to receive a good-looking high quality interior and graphic design.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2017 and was fully completed in October 2017 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Every detail is custom made. The predominant materials are natural wood, steel, terrazzo and concrete.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: All the people involved in the process were very professional even small local craftsman.
CHALLENGE: The main challenge was the very minimal budget and tight deadlines together with the tiny clear floor space of just a bit more than 20 sqm.
