DESIGN NAME: Pavilion
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential house
INSPIRATION: An extended family of five, how can they live harmoniously under the same roof while enjoying their own place? The garden design elements provide a quiet and relaxed spatial experience in this shared space. The openness of spaces subtly maintained the privacy.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: From the entrance foyer, dining and living room, terrace, corridor to multi-purpose room and children's bedroom, layers are arranged in different heights, different living functions are visually separated yet connected, the spaces are flexible and harmonious, where playing, doing homework, doing yoga and various activities can be accommodated together with dining and chat, the inhabitants can get along intimately.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The walls between enclosed rooms are dismantled, the lightweight “three-dimensional box” and folding partitions are designed to divide the spaces into a multi-purpose room and a children's bedroom, visually unfold the interior space, increasing the flexibility of room layout as well as preserving the privacy. The raised multi-purpose room is both a part of the children's bedroom and an extension of the living room.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in July 2017 in Hong Kong and finished in December 2017.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Natural and simple original materials are incorporated, embellished with a few plants, creating a serene natural scenery in the spatial.
