| DESIGN NAME: Rectangular Box PRIMARY FUNCTION: Interior Design INSPIRATION: The project is a demonstration unit for the developer. After the research with the client, designer realize that customers' target is manly the young couples. Besides, the property location is very close to the airport, so the theme about airplane was proposed. Designer proposed that the couples are air attendant and photographer who loves travel around. Therefore the apartment is full of the photos, accessories collected form the world. Each corners show their characters and love. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project is a demonstration unit for the property. Designer proposed a open plan for the young couple who just married. Besides, designer proposed the theme about air attendant as the property is very close to the airport. Therefore the taregt clients would be airlines' staffs. The interior is full of the collections around the world. The color scheme is young and fresh in order to highlight the design theme. Besides, as the ceiling height has 5m, so the designer made use of the space and create mezzanine floor for bedroom and study room. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: As it is a demonstration unit, therefore the designer needed to realize the local market and type of customers in Chong Qing, China. Of course the designer was required to work closely with the marketing team of the client, so that we came up some optional interior styles for the client's approval. Finally, the theme of young couple with occupation of air attendant was proposed. It is fully match of the property location and target customers. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Wall paper, timber flooring, fabric panel, tiles are the main materials applied in the space. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 4m width, 9m length, 5m height TAGS: demonstration unit, showflat, rectangular, box, Forte, ChongQi, China, MartinChow, HotKoncepts RESEARCH ABSTRACT: As it is a demonstration unit, therefore the designer needed to realize the local market and type of customers in Chong Qing, China. CHALLENGE: Client gave designer the box size is 9m depth, 4m width and 5m height. In oder to make use of the apartment, mezzanine floor was proposed. Designer tried many stair locations to fit the room size and maximize the use of space. Finally T-shaped stair was applied, so that the space has the perfect void location and 2 rooms located at the end of 2 stairs.
