| DESIGN NAME: Rahimzadeh Jewelry PRIMARY FUNCTION: Retail INSPIRATION: Luxury presentation,old Qajar reign theme and futuristic appearance was the main concepts which has developed the project from the beginning to end.Rahimzadeh jewelry with 113 years old, is located in the main bazaar of Tehran. The antiquity of the building influenced the designer to inspire from the contemporaneous and most considerable building of Qajar reign Golestan Palace ,which is also located near bazaar.Mirror hall of Palace with mirror ceiling and walls was the main concept of the deign. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In this design, the concept of antiquity design was shown not only in the Qajar mirror theme but also by presenting the history by two layer walls. Due to this purpose the main brick ceiling is exposed behind the movements of chromic cubes. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: These cubes work as a 2-dimensional surface, creating a unique reflective wall, and as they reach the top part, they gradually appear as three-dimensional volumes and eventually become a whole cube. Where as the whole time they are by nature 3-dimensional cubes. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The projects duration was five months and it was done in 2016. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The concept has emerged into the 4 by 4 chromic cubes for coating the walls and the ceiling.In fact the old concept of the Mirror Hall is evolved into a modernized version by introducing Chrome as the reflective material. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The area of the project is 75 m2. TAGS: Retail, renovation, interior, Chrome, Cube, jewelry, Mirror, contemporary, Modern RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The main subject for our research was the Qajar reign's houses and their unique elements and characteristics. CHALLENGE: According to the previous information, we decided to take Mirror as the main concept of our design, reference to our research about old Iranian houses and also the Golsetan Palace. Our approach was to take mirror as an element of the old, and modernize it into a new version. This is why Chrome was chosen as the main material which is modern but has the reflective quality as well.
