DESIGN NAME: Adani Retail Showroom
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Retail showroom
INSPIRATION: The retail showroom was to cater the ethnic men’s garment, so the visualization was to create the grand experience incorporating the traditional components. The display, furniture and the structural elements were emphasized with intricate carvings. Various traditional elements i.e. wooden carvings, column brackets, carved doors, chairs were collage in unique pattern to create a distinctive grandeur ambiance.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The characterized central special studio display exclusive collections. The blazers were exhibited on the metals supported by carved brackets against the wooden collage wall. On the other side is the Sherwani section with the wooden sliders, forms an appealing backdrop. Here the juxtaposition of polished wood-metal engravings with contrasting etched motifs on the cement sheet, accentuates the entire space.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The central lift space divides the showroom in two different sections, each of which caters the special studio exhibiting its exclusive collection. The larger space occupies the kurta and the suit section with the central special studio for the Jodhpuri outfits. The other space adjacent to the left side showcases the sherwanis.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2017 and finished in June 2017 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The materials encorporated for the interiors are the stones, wood and metal engravings.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Carpet area of this project is 232.25 square metre.

CHALLENGE: As client wanted to portray men's ethnic wear like kurtas, sherwanis and kotis along with some areas dedicated to western wears like blazers, so vernacular elements were studied and they were incorporated in the design.
