| DESIGN NAME: Chez Shibata 3rd Patisserie Shop PRIMARY FUNCTION: Patisserie Shop INSPIRATION: For pastrycooks, kitchen is not only a working place but also a laboratory to create new pastry. Brand founder Mr Shibata once studied in Paris and took up pastry career from then on. In combination with his experience, we define the design concept as "Laboratory Shibata,a Modified Paris Workshop". The key word is "workshop" UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project is the 3rd branch of Chez Shibata(patisserie shop)in Shanghai.Its design concept is "Laboratory Shibata,Pastryclass Shibata". We put effort into the floor plan,making 9 functions work at the same time within 200-square-meter site. 23 high-functional iron frame French windows are set to the north elevation.They eliminate the barrier between inside and out inadvertently. The "pastry class" the owner asks for is a multifunctional space.It's also an eat-in zone,kitchen and exhibition zone. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in November 2017 in Shanghai. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interior Space and Exhibition Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: We choose materials according to following standards:small cost,durability and full demonstration of design concept. Finally we choose concrete perforated bricks, wire laths,epoxy floor,terrazzo and steel plates,especially the concrete perforated bricks,which has good durability and can show design concept without retouch. We pile concrete perforated bricks in a rough way and paint them white directly,creating the atmosphere of the workshop in Paris.Also,terrazzo and epoxy floor make no seams.
