| DESIGN NAME: Arsuf Panoramic PRIMARY FUNCTION: High end residential building INSPIRATION: I'm fascinated by the dialogue between texture and light, and am always searching for ways to improve upon and create new relationships between the two. In this instance, the light projects outwards, pouring through the pattern of the outer skin of the building. This differs from traditional outdoor lighting, as it was designed specifically to emphasize the special pattern of the building's exterior. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The goals of this project were to achieve a calming effect through lighting design, and to emphasize the serenity of the seaside environment. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project is in Arsuf, Israel. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: lighting technology SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: - TAGS: lighting, lighting design, environment, seaside, skin, texture, pattern, Arsuf, LED Linear RESEARCH ABSTRACT: I researched the governmental regulations for lighting requirements in natural environments - in this case, a nature reserve. I learned of the impacts of lighting on the surrounding area, and was challenged with identifying the appropriate fixtures that both adhered to the regulations and achieved the desired design effect.
