RESEARCH ABSTRACT: -
CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge we faced came from the structures of the house. The structural walls set a lot of limits on layout design. Concealed storage was hence designed to utilize space with low flexibility and to keep the living space neat. Also, the existing quarter landing stairway wasted a lot of space. As a solution, we relocated the staircase from G/F to 1/F to smoothen the circulation and improve the ventilation of living area, at the same time creating a opened space for family gathering.
