RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The client did not set a clear theme for the design at the beginning, therefore our design team took the target customers as well as their age group and taste preference into consideration. European style did not suit the project for its limited space, neither did the Chinese style with the age group taken into account. In the end, with comprehensive understanding, we decided to have the classical European style mingled with simple and concise Chinese style. Clients were very satisfied with our positioning of design when they came to check on site.
CHALLENGE: The original structure of the living room on the ground floor was narrow in width. As a critical space for public activity in a house and the connection with the exterior garden, the living room should be more spacious and comfortable, hence the design moved to west wall, further west to gain more inches from the elderly bedroom to have a better balanced space allocation.
