| DESIGN NAME: Creator Z-03 PRIMARY FUNCTION: Coloured needle INSPIRATION: In the use of traditional sewing needles, we always encounter the problem that it is hard to thread the needle. How to easily and efficiently thread a needle is the greatest challenge I face in my design. Second, because the needle is so thin, it is very easy to get lost, and it can be hard to pick up. It has improved efficiency for users. At the same time, this design has shown care for the elderly whose eyesight has become weaker, fully embodying the people-oriented design concept. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The biggest speciality of this sewing needle is that it has a coloured needle eye made of silicone. Firstly, when leading the tread through the needle, the needle eye can be enlarged by pressing, thus making it easy for the thread to get through. Secondly, With this coloured needle, we can easily lock at the target! Thirdly, when the needle falls onto the ground, the soft material end helps easy pick-up. Fourthly, you can use different colours to identify the dimension you need. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: When leading the thread through the needle eye, the silicon needle eye can be stretched and magnified by pressing, thus making it easy for the thread to get through.When the needle falls onto the ground, it can be easily picked up by holding the silicone needle head. The soft materials make it easier to apply force. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in September 2017 in Xiamen and finished in November 2017 in Xiamen. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The silicone needle head features softness and flexibility. When leading the thread through, a light pressing can magnify the needle eye and let the thread pass easily. As different colours are used for different needle models, users can easily distinguish between the different models and choose the one they need. If the needle accidentally falls onto the ground, it can be easily identified by its sharp colour. This is especially convenient for users with a relatively weak vision.
