DESIGN NAME: Gerridae’s Waltz
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Interior Design
INSPIRATION: Inspired from the four universal nurturing elements into our design plan, say sun, air, plants and water, the designer incorporates the image of gerridae into formulating the facade of the architecture that is consistently coordinated with local environment as the city located among the surrounding landscape.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Motivated by the biological feature of Gerridae with four stretching legs, the designer advocates four distinct architectural areas attaching to the main building.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Located at the southern of the main building, the pool not only properly reduces the surrounding temperature, but also comforts the stressful mindsets. The windows decorated on both the northern and southern area sustain indoor air circulation. Furthermore, the emergency escapes furnished from the ground to the third floor ingeniously isolate the office from the highway noise. The walls adorned with painted glass artistically display the medieval church atmosphere.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in December 2016 in Tainan City, Taiwan.
