| DESIGN NAME: Exquisite PRIMARY FUNCTION: Premium Farmhouse Landscape INSPIRATION: In every walk with the nature one receives far more than he seeks. Nature is the elixir to burst the stress. Natural elements like water, trees bring life to a lifeless space. In nature, we rediscover our soul. Now a days people do not have time to indulge in wilderness. Landscaping gives the opportunity to bring nature to your door step. Landscaping pacifies down the hardness of the concrete jungles. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project is done for a plush farmhouse. The landscape is designed in a way which elevates the beauty of the bungalow. Manicured hedge is given to create clean lines and it gives openness to the space. The roughness of the concrete walls is calmed down by transforming them into green walls. Even though the waterfall is artificially created, it is structured in a way which makes it appear very natural. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: At this place, people feel the connection with nature. The addition of plants, changes to the existing terrain and the construction of structures has given the bungalow its anticipated look. The planning, laying out and construction of gardens is done in such a style that it enhances the appearance and creates usable space for outdoor activities around the bungalow. There is harmony and balance created in hardscape with appropriate use of softscape. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project is located in Kolhapur, India. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The material palette used is limited and austere. Creative use of ferrocrete has given birth to the lifelike waterfall. Stone, concrete and water is used in elegance with nature creating mesmerising views. There is unity in the effective use of elements which helps to convey the theme. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The total landscape area is about 29,800 sq.m Club House Area is 180 sq.m TAGS: Breathe taking, enthralling, placid, and comforting RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The climate in the area had to be carefully studied to understand the vegetation. The hi-end bungalows and farmhouses in the neighbourhood were surveyed to understand their design, artefacts, textures, plantation, etc. The landscaping of this project was designed to stand out from the rest and create a status symbol. CHALLENGE: This project was about creating a space to balance out the public and personal relations of the client. Segregating the entire space and doing justice to the design brief was the biggest task. The area consists of both the office and the bungalow of the client. Giving the home an enclosure from the office with the use of a fence which was created out of ficus is the highlight of this project.
