DESIGN DETAILS
DESIGN NAME:
Leaves

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Radiator

INSPIRATION:
Leaves is a radiator/towel warmer designed to enrich the home environment with an interesting and innovative design object. The concept was born from the idea of proposing an element that can adapt to every area of the house and not just to the bathroom area. The idea is to create an element that can sculpt, liven up and make every corner of the house unique, transforming even a "naked" wall into an interesting space. Its name is inspired by the nature, the lightness of the leaves and their sinuous and organic.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Leaves is infrared electric, the choice was made on the basis of an accurate research on the new market trends in the field of heating. Its benefits: the heating by irradiation allows to heat a body as it does the sun, it does not dry the domestic air, also the walls, the ceilings and the furnishing elements are affected by the irradiation and reflect it, allowing to have a More uniform heating in the environment. Many people have noticed an improvement in the healthiness of the air.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Leaves proposes itself as a smart, ecological and functional element, that enriches the environment. Is possible to find it in different finishes to satisfy the tastes of every kind of customer/client. In a context that leaves more and more space for the self-production of electricity and encourages the domestic thermal insulation, this solution allows to have an ecological product that does not consume fossil fuels, easy to install as it does not require any renovation, and that allows also to reach the regime temperature rapidly. Each element of the radiator is made up of several layers including the electric conductor, which can be made by carbon with addition of silver conductors.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
Milan, Italy 2017

Furniture Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Leaves is made in solid surface: the characteristics of the material and the production process make it suitable for any type of design. Its components are fused in an indissoluble way, originating a new material with its own and homogeneous characteristics. This ensures a constant reaction of the material even to high thermal shocks. It can also be customized and colored in bulk in any RAL code coloring.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
The choice was made on the basis of an accurate research on the new market trends in the field of heating, specifically this type of technology is increasingly required thanks to its benefits: heating by irradiation allows to heat a body as the sun does, it does not dry out the domestic air as it happens for the more traditional methods that lower the air humidity than necessary, also the walls, the ceilings and the furnishing elements are affected by the irradiation and reflect it, allowing more uniform warming in the environment.

CHALLENGE:
Many people have noticed an improvement in the healthiness of the air since the form of heat transmission by irradiation does not involve movement of masses of air, as is the case for convection, also reducing the displacement of dust. In a context that leaves room for the self-production of electricity and which encourages domestic thermal insulation, this solution allows to have a product that does not consume fossil fuels, easy to install because it does not need Renovations to be applied and also reach the regime temperature rapidly.
