DESIGN NAME: Hiya
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Office
INSPIRATION: The inner courtyard of the building is full of plants, which inspired us to play on this particular theme throughout the whole design process. We wanted to expand the green area by smuggling nature into the office. It is more pleasant to sit at a desk in such surroundings. To ensure that not only the green plants represent nature, throughout the office we placed 3 artificial trees. Our client for this project is an open minded businessman who insisted on designing this office as comfortable and cozy for the workers as possible.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This 300 sq ft office area was built on the 5th floor of a 6 storey office block. We were challanged to rebuild the whole area for our clients company that specialises in IT programming. The shape and the lilac colour of the companys logo that were given as a starting point in designing and were also used in the offices abroad. However, since each office is different, it was possible to create a barrier free design. The aim was to make this office well equipped with work promoting departments.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: consultation, initial meeting, site visit to obtain measurements and photos, start to design, meeting for further informations, drawings with specification, documentation presentation, price quotation submission, demolition, construction project, site visits, shopping trips, product deliveries
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in May 2017 in Budapest and finished in november 2017 in Budapest.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Trees are the perfect imitations of those found in nature, the bark is lifelike and are formed with artistic care. They are not only pleasing the eye but practical as they are arranged around the existing pillars eliminating the robust and hindering effects of these supports. Even we placed artificial flowers in acid etched glasses we were careful not to become unnatural, so the artificial nature of the flower cannot be perceived beyond the mysterious panes of glass. The visual circuit pattern on the glass doors allows to identify the function of the company.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: To accentuate the logo, the goal was to make it protrude from the background, so one of the walls in the working area is covered by an oak panel with a vein that is highlighted by a layer of applied lazur. In this way the 2 cm thick, gloss acrylic letters of Hiya sign got a background that refers to nature as the plants and the artificial trees in the office. The raillamp system with positionable lights and pendants creates an industrial impact just as the demolition of the suspended ceiling. The natural lighting of the corridors is realized by LED panels decorated with clouds.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Regarding the reception area, the goal was to prevent visitors encountering a typical reception desk, but rather a freer, more relaxed, youthful interior that encompasses the entire office at the entrance.
CHALLENGE: The main challenge at the beginning of this project was to integrate and combine themes to make a vibrant and inspiring working space. Then to create an energetic flow throughout the entire given space.
