| DESIGN NAME: Botanica Istanbul PRIMARY FUNCTION: Premium Condominium Landscape INSPIRATION: People living in Istanbul, Turkey’s most populated city, work for long hours under stress. Therefore people desire homes that will ease the pressure of the stressful city. Families members who spend their whole day in a caotic city want to come home to a relaxed environment for their mental and physical health. This project was inpired by the basic needs, stillness and serenity of nature, of these families. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Modern style has been aimed in the project. There is a turquise pool in the center. To combine nature and modern life, a gabion wall and big plants have been located on the sunbathing deck. The ropes on the bridge railing and the wooden feet of the pergola at the end of the bridge carry the modern and sophisticated look. The GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic), with steel feet and spot lightning, dispersed all around the garden aim to seperate each section while giving an original look. Finally, the plants have been lightened with different colors to give a relaxing but also enlightning environment OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The design includes relaxing visual aspects that the residents can see while sitting on their balcony or spending time in the garden. The gabion wall made from natural rocks, evergreen trees, a wide variety of green plants on the sunbathing deck and many different spots to rest in the garden with good lightning allow family members to change their spirtual minds the moment they come into the garden. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project is located in Istanbul Turkey, and the Landscape construction period is from March 2016 to June 2017 |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The gabion walls for planters are used. And concrete used for the walking area for naturel modern looking.GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) and stell foots used on the white monument. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The total landscape area is about 14000 square meters TAGS: Landscape , Condominium landscape design, Modern landscape design, Istanbul, Selin Buharalioglu RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We have recognized that the project will be implemented to one of the most populated areas of the city where middled aged couples and families with younger children live together. Therefore, the design aims to take peoples’s minds off the city caos and spend more time in the natural garden of their home where they can meet their physical needs as well. CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge of the design is that it is a roof garden that needs to be developed into a natural look that will reach people’s spirits while meeting their physical needs.
