| DESIGN NAME: Blue Sky Bay PRIMARY FUNCTION: Interior Design INSPIRATION: For the client conducting yacht-touring business, the designer starts the design plan based on the idea of "boat," which has become the principle applied on both the architecture appearance and the interior design. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The design of bed and breakfast (B&B) must take into considerations its comfortability and commercial strategy. Bed and breakfast is to tourists what visual effect is to art performance, of great importance to designer. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This project is a bed and breakfast. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in August 2017 in Nantou County, Taiwan. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interior Space and Exhibition Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Given the long but small base, the designer locates the staircase on the middle of the base where the daylight would scatter the indoor space directly, figuratively presenting the vision when coming out on the deck from the cabin. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This space is 470 square meters. TAGS: Interior Design, B&B RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Positioning from its 11 to 1 o'clock, the architecture gets the sunlight straight to the reception hall, displaying the texture of the wood-finish tiles. The application of materials such as calcium silicate, teak board, etc. reminds people of "boat" of which the L-shape floor, small portholes, dangling lights consistently resembles the boat equipment. CHALLENGE: Named for its location by the Sun Moon Lake, the resort "Blue Sky Bay" in which the rooms called "sky" demonstrate blithe and pleasant atmosphere by decorating the back balcony with plantings.
