| DESIGN NAME: Samsung Health Ask an Expert PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ask An Expert INSPIRATION: A simple doctor visit in America is often a complicated hassle. First, you can wait weeks for an appointment and then you wait again in the waiting room for 2 hours, and plus incredibly high cost. After all the studies the team went through to obtain sufficiently domain knowledge on healthcare. We have been thinking how to make healthcare easier and more patient-centric. We designed Samsung Health Ask an Expert. With our product, seeing a doctor has never been so easy. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Samsung Health Ask An Expert enables users to meet with world-class doctors right from their smartphone. We worked with major insurance companies to make appointments low-cost, and partnered with leading hospitals and top-tier doctors. Above all, our product uses an intuitive design language and user flow to create a seamless user experience. We've also taken extra steps to optimize for affordability, meaningful doctor-patient interaction, and ease of use — for a great telehealth experience. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Design Tools: Sketch, After Effects, Principle, Photoshop, Invision Programming Development: Java SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: - TAGS: UX, UI, healthcare, telehealth, mobile application, user experience RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Throughout the design process, we conducted user studies to ensure the design was easy to use and met their needs as health care consumers. We used participatory design techniques to elicit ideas that informed our designs. We also solicited feedback on the e2e experience from users in eight states. We targeted specific usage scenarios based on users’ self-reported interests. Users provided qualitative feedback and rated the service across usability and desirability metrics. CHALLENGE: The hardest part of this design was how to make American healthcare easier and more patient-centric, while using visually appealing design language.
