DESIGN NAME: Tajimaya Shabu Shabu
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Japanese Hot Pot Dining
INSPIRATION: Inspired by a Yoshokuya (it is a restaurant of yoshoku, that refers to a style of Western-influenced cooking which originated during the Meiji Restoration in Japan), the design scheme holds a warm and nostalgic feeling at that time. The overall interior style of yoshokuya is influenced by European cafe in the late 19th century. We created the space that was based on the style of yoshokuya with contemporary accents.

CHALLENGE: Shabu-shabu is known as a common Japanese hot pot dish at present time. For that reason, the interior of Shabu-shabu dining tends to visualize more Japanese taste. The main challenge of this project was to design an environment that would change the eating experience of Japanese food as before amidst the young and trendy of apm mall.
