| DESIGN NAME: Dreams on the Way PRIMARY FUNCTION: Trade Fair Stand INSPIRATION: Vitra takes the responsibility to our planet very seriously. Sustainability is a great way to reduce using natural resources. So, designing a sustainable stand concept is a really good way to show our client’s precision of respecting nature In addition; assembly period of this fair was really limited. There was not enough time for creating the real bathrooms on the field. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Sustainability, mobility and industrial-natural atmosphere. Using containers as real bathrooms has two advantages. First, they have mobility by loading on trucks and could be shown any other place. Second, they could be used over and over again as display spaces for new products. These second hand real industrial containers and the high plants around them, brought two contrast concepts together: the cold and hard feeling of industry and the warm and soft feeling of nature. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in October 2016 and finished in February 2016 in Istanbul, and was placed in Unicera in March 2017. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: We used second hand 20’ ISO containers, and this also make it more economic. To create the walls and ceiling in them, we made a metal plus wooden construction and also these constructions were also editable for other exhibits. The general stand floor was made of wooden construction and carpet tiles. The half of stand shell was made of expanded metal sheets with metal construction to be seen inside by the visitors. The other half was made of wooden construction with painted chipboards on it. The meeting rooms were also made of expanded metal sheets with metal construction. All the lights were LED to reduce electricity consumption.
